I am an independent filmmaker and writer. My debut film, All About My Son (2024), a narrative short, was selected by the 16th LGBT+ Film Festival Poland in 2025. My urban ethnography, New Yorkology (紐約學,2015), was published by Taiwan's China Times Publishing and earned critical acclaim.
Telling stories with a social-science nuance is my specialty, as I was educated to be an economist (MSc, University of Warwick), a political scientist (MA, New York University) and a journalist (BA, Fu Jen Catholic University 輔仁大學). Fine art, which I grew up studying, has been influential in shaping my aesthetics. Though considering myself a self-taught filmmaker, I gained significant cinematic knowhow during the four-week summer course at Raindance Film School in London.
Before transitioning to filmmaking, I wrote, edited and supervised investment reports for The Economist Group for over ten years. I was also a doctoral research assistant of monetary economics at Goethe University Frankfurt for three years, as well as a semiconductor equity analyst at a boutique firm in Manhattan for a year.
I now live in the Netherlands with my partner. We are travel addicts, which explains why I adore world cinema. But I do NOT count how many countries I have been to — is Taiwan a country?
